December 2005

including the
2005 Holiday Newsletter
Kevin & Karina are going to joining us for the holiday season.
This is the first time Kevin has been back since moving to Germany
and this will be Karina's first time visiting the Midwest. We
are look forward to see both of them!
We are also planning on road trip to Ohio to visit Dorothy's folks
and her family.
Dorothy is most certainly enjoying the various Christmas channels on
XM Radio, her favorite is Channel 104 (Traditions).
November 2005

Winter has been very mild (we are
counting our blessings), no ice houses yet!
We attended Grandparent's day at Sara's school, the second graders
presented a wonderful program of poetry and song. They were
all so grown up for second graders.
Kristi was home for Thanksgiving and Dorothy prepared a wonderful
dinner for all. Sara and Ethan continue to amaze us,
especially Ethan's computer skills. Kristi and Matt took a
short break from the cold during their Thanksgiving break and took
in Las Vegas for a few days with Matt's parents.
October 2005

Fall was late this year, but was
wonderful. This is clearly our favorite season.
I talked Dorothy into taking a train trip down the Mississippi river
valley (Minneapolis to Winona) onboard a special passenger train
pulled by
Milwaukee 261 Steam Engine. We had a wonderful time (least
I did, Dorothy didn't complain), I posted some photos of the trip in
our Photo Gallery.
September 2005

Kathy and Denny came up to the
north woods for a visit in late September, their timing was great as
it was the last weekend on the lake! The only down side was
our fall colors were behind schedule by about 2 weeks.
Kristi and Matt went back to Duluth for their final year at UMD
(University of Minnesota, Duluth). They are both seniors and I
they are both looking forward to graduating in the spring.
August 2005

It was a delightful summer in
Minnesota, most weekends were nice which allowed us to get on the
lake most of them. Sara and Ethan like the swimming beach on
big island. Please give us a call if your up our way during
the summer months, we would love to share our lake (Lake
Minnetonka) with you!
July 2005

Continues to be a nice summer in
the north woods. Dorothy and I took some time off to just
enjoy the lake, but we also sneaked off to Las Vegas for a few days
to take in some shows and just be pampered. It was HOT, but
had a good time.
- Le Reve at the Wynn (A wonderful aquatic show in a new round
theatre)
- Blue Man Group (Dorothy & I clearly didn't get the point of their
off beat humor!)
- Mamma Mia at Mandalay Bay (A nicely done production)
- Penn & Teller (A good show, they always make you think?)
We wanted to see Elton John, normal tickets were sold out and the
$500 tickets were a little steep!
We would highly recommend the
Venetian,
especially the
Venezia Tower Rooms and you have to take in the Grand Canal.
June 2005

All is well in Minnesota, been
enjoying the lake. Great having Kristi home for the summer.
Ken Jr has his own web site
LundyLand.org.
May 2005

We did get out on the lake a couple
times before the end of May, but it was another very wet May in
Minnesota.
Kristi's home for the summer, she just completed her Junior Year at
UMD and made the deans list. We are very proud of her.
Kevin is still in Germany and doing well adapting to the German way
of life.
Ken Jr, Rachel, Sara & Ethan are all doing great. FYI...Ken did
update the photo gallery last fall with some photos of
Sara and
Ethan.
April 2005

Lake Minnetonka "Ice
out" occurred officially on April 9th. Great to officially
have winter over with!
March 2005

Winter continues to hang on, we are looking forward to "ice out" on
Lake Minnetonka.
Kevin is thinking about visiting us from Germany this summer, time
will tell?
I've updated several sections of the web site, including a new
Home
Automation and AV Systems Page.
Dorothy and I belong to the
Minnetonka
Power Squadron and I've been asked to be their webmaster (was
glad to help out). We joined the group last year, considering
our new interest in boating. If your interested in boating and
have not been through one of their
classes I would encourage you to consider taking one.
February 2005

Winter has been mild, BUT
it would be good to see the snow disappear and get warmer!
January 2005

Dorothy and I had another wonderful Christmas
again this year, Kristi and Matt were home for the holidays.
Ken, Rachel, Sara & Ethan spent Christmas in California with
Rachel's family. We celebrated Christmas on New Year's weekend
with everyone including Kathy and Denny, who came up from Iowa.
