Merry Christmas from New Mexico

The Lundy's wish you and your family a Merry Christmas or as they would say in New Mexico Feliz Navidad!

Dorothy and I had a very exhilarating but wonderful year! Two of our children announced their engagements, we are so happy for Kevin and Kristi and looking forward to having Karina and Matt become a permanent part of our family.

Our new home was finished in late October and we are excited to finally be done with the construction phase and start enjoying our new hacienda in the mountains.

Dorothy & I our enjoying the southwest very much.  New Mexico is so rich in history and traditions, we discover something new every day.

Unfortunately, we spent a majority of our free time this year engaged in the construction process of our new home.  Since I was the architect and we installed many of home's systems ourselves, our involvement at times was overwhelming.  But, we are extremely happy with the results.  If you want a look see, checkout the photos I posted on our family website www.lundy.org.

So where is Sandia Park? It's located in the Sandia mountains about half way between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.  We are 9 miles from old Route 66, 10 miles south of Madrid which is where the movie Wild Hogs was filmed and Sandia Crest which is at 10,678 feet is just a 20 min drive away.  We have a spare bedroom and we have declared the Lundy B&B open for business, so make plans to visit New Mexico!

Kristi and Matt decided to stay in Minnesota to start their careers in retail.  Kristi who is following in her father's foot step become a Targeteer and it sounds like Matt is climbing the ranks within Office Max.   As I mentioned earlier, Matt asked for Kristi's hand in marriage earlier this year (we're thrilled) and we are waiting for the date to be set.  Sounds like they are going to spend some time in Paris as part of their trip to Germany for Kevin and Karina's wedding (Dad and mom may join them?).

Kevin & Karina still call Germany home and have had an exciting year.  It started with Karina accepting Kevin's proposal (we're so delighted) and then Karina's college graduation.  As of late, it sounds like they have spent a majority of their time involved with wedding planning activities.  Their wedding is going to take place in January in the mountain village of Inzell Germany, located in the State of Bavaria.  They met in Colorado while Karina was in the states a few years ago, so it only seems fitting that they get married in the mountains.  We are looking forward to our trip to Germany and spending time with our new extended family.

Ken, Rachel, Sara and Ethan continue to call Minnesota home.  Sara is becoming quite a young lady and Ethan started school this fall (hard to believe).  They all joined us for New Years last year and were unfortunately introduced to a freak New Mexico snow storm (at least that's what the natives tell us).  With the freeways closed and limited snowplows in the state, they were snowed in for several days (which was great for us, but it threw a wrench in Ken & Rachel's travel plans).
