from Minnesota

This year has proven to be another fantastic year for the Lundy's.  It started out with the birth of our new grandson Ethan Nathaniel and included a wonderful trip this summer to Seattle to visit relatives and a delightful cruise to Alaska.  Kristi started college this fall at UMD  leaving Dorothy and I to adjust to being empty nesters.  Of course we have both been busy elves getting ready for the holidays.

Most of my hobbies have been put on hold except for the Lundy.org web site...as work has keep this "elf" very busy this year, yes I'm still with Target and enjoying the new challenges every day brings.  If you haven't checked out the web site lately I would encourage you to do so, it now has over 1500 pages including a fairly compressive On-line Family Tree mostly focused on the Lunde-Lundy side at this point, more to come. It's also great place to check out What's New with the Lundy's?

For our vacation this year we decided to go to the west coast.  The first week we visited with family and stayed with Olaf and Louise Lunde (my grandfather's brother's family).  It was great visiting with all my relatives in the Seattle area (many of which I hadn't seen in over 40 years) and an unexpected pleasure was meeting up with family members who were also in the states on a holiday from Norway.  Thanks again to everyone on the Lunde side who made our visit to Seattle so memorable.

On the second half of our trip we spend a glorious week on-board the msAmsterdam cruising the inland passage and stopping at Juneau, Hubbard Glacier, Sitka and Ketchikan.  This was our first trip to Alaska and we had a wonderful time.  The highlight for me (beyond spending the week with my bride) was a helicopter ride up to the glaciers. Of course I took a few 100 photos and several hours of video. If your looking for something to do on a snowy Sunday afternoon, stop by for a slide show.

Dorothy is attempting to cope with "us two" being the only one's at home.  The big news is that she has come out of retirement to go back to work at Wells Fargo in downtown Minneapolis.  This means we get to commute with each other, which is good thing (I think?).  She just finished decorating the house for the holidays and I would have to say she has out done her self once again!  Of course she had to find new homes for all the Russian nesting Santas and Christmas decorations she acquired during our trip this summer.  The three cats continue to rule the roost and keep both of us amused.

Kristi is enjoying college life at UMD (in Duluth) and is currently majoring in criminology.  She claims the academic part of school is getting in the way of her social life, but considering we're paying the bills that logic doesn't go very far with me.  She lives on campus, which means the car stayed at home and she most certainly misses her "baby"!  We look forward to her visits and she will be spending a month with us during her semester break following the holidays.  As she would say, "It's all Good!".

Breckenridge

Kevin continues to call Breckenridge Colorado home.  Sounds like he has been spending most of his "free time" remodeling his condo vs snowboarding.  He's become quite the electrician and carpenter, but he still calls the old man occasionally for a tip or two.  We hope to make it out to Colorado soon to get a tour, but considering Dorothy and I don't ski or snowboard we may have to wait until the snow melts.

Ken and Rachel brought a wonderful new addition into the family earlier this year, Ethan Nathaniel.  He was born in February and it's hard to believe he's over nine months old now.  Sara is growing more every day, she is five going on 15 and is such a sweetheart.  Ken and Rachel are both doing well, fortunately Sara and Ethan get to spend most days with their mother at the day care where she works.  Ken Jr. is still with Medica and is also a major contributor to our web site including photos of Sara and Ethan for the Photo Gallery and maintaining his Everything Disney web site which has a large following.
