Interesting site. Looking for any info on my branch of the family. GGFather William Lundy born circa 1838 believe somewhere in Ireland, but not absolutely sure. Emigrated to US around 1860. Married Julia Madden. Only child, John Lundy, born in Ohio circa 1869. Moved to Clinton Iowa shortly thereafter. Family worked for railroads. William died in Clinton Iowa abt 1911. John Lundy died 1905. Most of family now lives in northern Illinois. Any info would be appreciated.

Greetings to the world-wide family of LUNDY.My Grandfather was Samuel (possibly of Irish extraction). His wife, Lucy (Clack)lived in Devizes, Wiltshire all her life. They had a son, Samuel John (my father) who moved to Andover, Hampshire where he met and married my mother Lucy (Osbourne).I have two children, Sarah-Jane and Alastair John.Sarah has 4 children and one more to be born soon. Alastair who married Shelgah has 2 children, Samuel David, and Isobella. I have lived in Andover all my life other than National Service in the Royal Air Force and recently for 2 years away in a village near Boston, Lincolnshire.It is so good to be back with my family again. Hi, all. I googled myself and came up with your website. (My own identity didn't come up!) My father's name was Ken Lunde, as well. I'm just curious--why is your name spelled Lundy (as in lundy.org) some places, and Lunde in others? What is the difference between the two spellings? (I thought Lunde was Norwegian--which my paternal grandparents were--and Lundy was an English name.) My grandparents migrated from Wisconsin to Montana, where my father was born. Some of my relatives live in Wisconsin and surrounding states, as well. My grandfather (Amund Lunde)was a Lutheran minister in Great Falls. The West Coast branch discovered the Midwest branch about 7 years ago, when there was a reunion trying to reunite the far-flung branches. (What a motley crowd!) In October I posted that Tab might not be worth looking for. Boy, was I WRONG!! Just happened to find some at Marc's in Willowick, Ohio (29700 Lakeshore Blvd., not far from the 305th St exit off Highway 2) and bought a box of 12 cans. WOW! It may be all saccharin and aspartame now like all other diet sodas, but it doesn't taste like any other diet soda. It is the same wonderful Tab that I remember from decades ago. I will definitely be going back to Willowick for more.

I found the TAB can look very attractive to the point that I wanted to try it after I think I saw it in a live comedy show that Sam Kinison had and was drinking it live on stage. This must've been 1984 or so. I was 13 at the time. Unfortunately I saw that label on saccharine and after that single can drink I decided not to drink it. I didn't look around here too much, so don't know if the origin of the Lundy name info. is already here or not. I got this out of a "book of names" in a local library. Perhaps you may be able to confirm it. The name Lundy is of Norse origin (that much you obviously already know). Lund is a Norse tranlation for the word used to describe the Puffin bird, and 'y' could be thought of as a tranlation of the Norse word 'ey' for Island. So 'Lundy' translates out to Puffin Island. There is a Lundy Island off the (south?) coast of England. Puffin's are known to frequent this Island according to the book. One more thing - GO LEAFS !!!
